WHAT IS AN IGNITION INTERLOCK?
The Draeger Interlock XT is a hand-held device that measures the Breath Alcohol Content (BAC) of the driver. The interlock provides a safe solution for monitored driving programs, companies and individuals.
HOW DOES AN INTERLOCK WORK?
The Draeger XT model is the easiest interlock device to use. The driver simply exhales into the device for five seconds and then briefly inhales. The interlock allows the driver to then start the vehicle if their breath alcohol content is below the pre-set limit for Oklahoma.
WILL THE INTERLOCK TURN OFF MY ENGINE?
No. The device will never turn off your vehicle while it is running. If the device detects alcohol content above the legal limit, it will record a violation. If a violation occurs, the device will require service at one of our locations within 5 days.
DOES THE INTERLOCK NEED PERIODIC SERVICE?
The interlock must be serviced at least every 60 days, or more frequently if there are any violations. We recommend that the device is serviced monthly. During a monthly service appointment, the device is calibrated to ensure accuracy. Our interlock technicians also ensure that the device is functioning properly, and download recorded information that is sent to the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. This service and calibration takes about 10-20 minutes.
